Four Pillars Moving
Our Story
Four Pillars Moving was founded in 2022 in Carthage NC by Isreal McDonald, Solomon McDonald, and Shannon Pratt. Originally serving Carthage, NC, and Pinehurst, NC, our company quickly earned a reputation for professionalism, care, and efficiency. Joining them for a short time was Corey Wood of Whispering Pines.
Following Hurricane Helene in 2024, Isreal, Solomon, Shannon, and Zach Hales returned to Carthage from Asheville, bringing with them a renewed mission to help families relocate with ease. We expanded our service area to Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte while also making frequent trips back to Asheville to assist families both within the city and across the state.
Between January 2025 and August 2025, Four Pillars went through a period of restructuring and rebranding, emerging stronger than ever under the leadership of Isreal, Solomon, and Shannon.
Today, we proudly serve Carthage, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, and Sanford, and also take on moves to Charlotte and Asheville on a per-job basis.
Isreal McDonald
Logistics Manager / Co-Owner
Isreal grew up in Carthage along with Solomon and Shannon, all three went to Union Pines High School. Isreal is a dual graduate of The University of North Carolina at Asheville with bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Business Management, Isreal has been a professional mover for the past 10 years, working for multiple moving companies before co-founding Four Pillars. He oversees logistics, ensuring every move is smooth from start to finish.

Solomon McDonald
Team Builder / Co-Owner
A former Division 1 Track & Field athlete and two-time national qualifier, Solomon holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UNC Asheville. Solomon holds both weight room records and shot put records at Union Pines High School. With 5+ years of professional moving experience, Solomon has led teams through hundreds of successful moves and specializes in building strong, efficient crews.
Shannon Pratt
Team Trainer / Team Leader
With over 15 years in customer service and moving, Shannon has completed 700+ five-star moves and trained over 30 new movers in the art of professional relocation. His leadership ensures that every team member upholds the standards Four Pillars is known for. Shannon is a Carthage local and grew up in the area with Solomon and Isreal.
